These terms apply to your use of thegrimoire.co.nz and any purchase you make from us. The Grimoire Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a New Zealand company. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms, along with our Shipping Policy, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If you’re buying for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act doesn’t apply, to the extent the law allows.

Using our website

You must be 18 or over to place an order, or have permission from a parent or guardian. Please don’t misuse our website, interfere with how it works, or use it for anything unlawful.

Orders

When you place an order, you’ll receive an email confirming we’ve received it. We may decline or cancel an order, including after confirmation, if:

• the product is unavailable or has been cancelled by the publisher
• there’s a pricing or product error
• we suspect the order is fraudulent, or is being placed for resale

If we cancel all or part of your order, we’ll let you know and refund what you’ve paid for those items in full.

Limited stock and purchase limits

Many of our titles are limited editions with small print runs. To give as many readers as possible a fair chance, we may limit the number of copies per customer, household or order. Orders that exceed a stated limit may be reduced or cancelled and refunded.

Prices and payment

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST. Shipping is calculated at checkout. Prices may change at any time, but the price you pay is the price shown when you place your order.

If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we’ll contact you before sending it. You can then choose to pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Payments are processed securely by third-party providers. If you use a buy-now-pay-later service such as Afterpay, their terms also apply.

Pre-orders

Pre-orders are paid in full at the time of ordering. Release dates are set by publishers and are estimates only. They can change, and we’ll keep you updated where we can.

If a publisher cancels a title, we’ll refund it in full. Pre-orders aren’t eligible for change-of-mind refunds. See our Refund Policy for details, and our Shipping Policy for how orders containing pre-orders are sent.

Product information

We describe our books as accurately as we can, using information supplied by publishers. Special edition features such as sprayed edges, foiling, artwork and tip-ins are set by the publisher. Colours and finishes may look slightly different in person than on screen.

Occasionally a publisher changes an edition’s features after we list it. If that happens and you’re unhappy with what you receive, please contact us.

Shipping, returns and damage

How we send orders is covered in our Shipping Policy. Returns, refunds and damaged items are covered in our Refund Policy.

Our liability

To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or your purchase. This doesn’t affect any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act or Fair Trading Act.

Website content

All content on our website, including text, photos, graphics and our logo, belongs to The Grimoire Limited or is used with permission. Please don’t copy or reuse it without our written consent.

Reviews and comments

If you post a review or comment on our website or social channels, you give us permission to display and share it. Please keep it honest and respectful. We may remove content that’s offensive, misleading or unlawful.

Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 2020.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order applies to that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
