The Grimoire loves an event — hosting them, attending them, supporting authors, selling books, talking books, carrying boxes of books, and occasionally wondering why we thought we had upper body strength.

February 2026

A Grave Mistake — Steffanie Holmes Book Launch

We kicked things off in February with Steffanie Holmes' launch for A Grave Mistake, the second book in The Nevermore Murder Club & Smutty Book Coven series. It was a huge success, and we were so thrilled to support Steff and celebrate another brilliant book with readers who were clearly ready to be emotionally compromised.

March 2026

A Romantic Adventure — Christchurch

In March, we headed to A Romantic Adventure in Christchurch — New Zealand's biggest romance book signing event. With 100+ local and international romance authors, meet-and-greets, book signings, signed special editions, bookish merch, and every kind of romance from sweet to spicy, dark to cosy, it was a full feast. The Grimoire was the Official Bookseller for the event, which meant we were surrounded by books, authors, readers, and a level of romance-reader enthusiasm that could probably power a small town.

Late March 2026

A Tale of Cursed Tides — T.R. Sherring Debut Launch

At the end of March, we worked with local New Zealand author T.R. Sherring on the launch of her debut novel, A Tale of Cursed Tides — the first book in a four-book Romantasy series inspired by The Little Mermaid. Witchy, cursed, magical, dramatic, and exactly the kind of chaos we support. The launch at Southern Cross Garden Bar was such a good night, and we loved getting to help celebrate a local indie author stepping into the world with her first book.

The Grimoire Headquarters — Wellington

Once our warehouse fit-out is complete, we will begin hosting signings, launches, celebrations, book clubs, movie nights, and other cosy, intimate gatherings. Basically, we are building the kind of bookish space we have always wanted to exist — one where readers can gather, authors can be celebrated, and beautiful books can have their moment.

Good stories deserve a proper stage — and we want to create a space where readers and authors can meet, connect, celebrate, and make a little bit of bookish noise together.
